Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled on the VS Advocacia website, what your rights are and how to exercise them under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018, the "LGPD"). This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Portuguese version, the Portuguese text governs.

1. Controller and contact

The controller of the personal data processed through this website is José Vinicios Leite Santos, an attorney admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association, Paraíba Section (OAB/PB No. 32,683), practicing under the name VS Advocacia, with offices at:

  • João Pessoa (PB): Avenida Governador Flavio Ribeiro Coutinho, 500 - Sala 927, Manaíra, CEP 58037-005, Brazil;
  • São Paulo (SP): Avenida Paulista, 1471 - Conj 512, Bela Vista, Brazil.

For questions about this policy, to exercise your rights or to reach the person responsible for data protection, email contato@viniciossantos.com.

2. What data we process and where it comes from

This site has no contact form that stores your data on our server. Personal data may reach us in the following ways:

  • Consultation scheduling (Calendly): the booking calendar embedded on this site is operated by Calendly Inc. and loads only after you allow the "Scheduling" cookie category. When you book a time, the information you enter (such as your name, email address and, if applicable, phone number) goes directly to Calendly Inc., which also processes it under its own terms and privacy policy. It is made available to us only so that we can hold the consultation you booked.
  • WhatsApp: the WhatsApp links on this site (wa.me) open the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Web, a service of Meta Platforms, Inc. That conversation is also governed by the WhatsApp/Meta privacy policy, and we process any data you share with us there in order to assist you.
  • Email: email links open your own email program. We process the data contained in any message you send us (such as your name, email address and the content of the message) in order to reply.
  • Browsing the site: the site stores essential cookies that remember only your cookie choice and the language you selected. As with any website, the hosting server may automatically log technical access data, such as your IP address and browser type, for operational and security purposes.

The site's fonts are hosted on our own server, with no calls to Google Fonts. The Google reviews shown on the site are reproduced as static text, without loading any Google scripts or cookies. No statistics or audience-analytics tools are installed.

3. Cookies and consent

On your first visit, you will see a notice with "Accept", "Decline" and "Customize" buttons, all given equal prominence. Non-essential cookies, such as those used by the Calendly calendar, are set only after you consent. You can review or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Details are in our Cookie Notice.

4. Purposes and legal bases

We process the data received through these channels to respond to inquiries, to schedule and conduct legal consultations, and to carry out any resulting engagement for legal services. Under Article 7 of the LGPD, the main legal bases are:

  • performance of a contract to which you are a party, or of preliminary steps related to such a contract, at your request (Art. 7, V);
  • legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and providing information about the services offered (Art. 7, IX);
  • compliance with legal or regulatory obligations that apply to the practice of law (Art. 7, II);
  • the regular exercise of rights, including in judicial or administrative proceedings (Art. 7, VI) and, for sensitive personal data, Art. 11, II, "d"; and
  • your consent, for loading the Calendly calendar and for any non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only:

  • with service providers that are strictly necessary to run the site and assist you (Calendly Inc., when you allow the calendar, and WhatsApp/Meta Platforms, Inc., when you choose that channel);
  • after an engagement begins, with the agencies, authorities and professionals needed to perform the services, with your knowledge; and
  • with public authorities, when required by law.

6. International data transfers

Calendly Inc. and WhatsApp/Meta Platforms, Inc. operate outside Brazil, so data processed through these tools may be transferred internationally. Such transfers take place under the cases provided for in Chapter V of the LGPD (Articles 33 to 36), and these companies apply their own data protection safeguards, described in their privacy policies.

7. Professional confidentiality and retention

Information you share in connection with a consultation or with legal services is protected by the professional secrecy rules of the Brazilian Bar Statute (Law No. 8,906/1994) and the OAB Code of Ethics and Discipline.

Data related to scheduled consultations and client relationships is kept for as long as needed to provide the services and, afterward, for the period required by legal and tax obligations and by the duties inherent in the practice of law, including professional secrecy. The record of your cookie choice is kept for 12 months.

8. Your rights as a data subject

Under Article 18 of the LGPD, you may request at any time, by writing to the email address in section 1: confirmation that your data is being processed; access to your data; correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data; anonymization, blocking or deletion of data that is unnecessary, excessive or processed in violation of the law; data portability; deletion of data processed on the basis of your consent; information about the public and private entities with which we share data; information about the possibility of refusing consent and the consequences of refusal; and withdrawal of consent. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

9. Security

We take technical and administrative security measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access and against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure or dissemination.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the site's practices or in legal requirements. The date of the last update will always appear at the top of this page.
